A normal guy (Gerard Butler) decides to take justice into his own hands after the guy who murdered his wife & daughter takes a plea bargain and is set free after only 10 years in prison. His Target; the Assistant District Attorney (Jamie Foxx) who orchestrated the entire deal. Butler murders the guy who murdered his family immediately after he is released from prison, and admits to Foxx that he indeed did the crime. So Butler ends up in Prison for murder, which doesn't stop him from orchestrating a string of murders. The only person that can put an end to the ordeal is the District Attorney (Foxx). Soon Foxx has no choice if he wants to keep himself and his family alive.
